America has an economic calamity boiling under the surface. We often think of economic calamities in terms of stock markets crashing, people losing their life savings in a day, and massive unemployment or fast gowning inflation, but evil can thrive with a Bull market.
In times past, ordinary commodities have been caught up in a trade triangle which feed the beast called tyranny. In the Far East, opium, silk, and spices helped western countries establish trade with China. In our hemisphere sugar, slaves and rum, obscured the words of the May Flower Compact and put the freedoms won by the Cross on hold for millions of African Christians.
Like a family going into debt with easy credit, tyranny can race across with amazing ease, leaving only Amazing Grace as our only hope.
Christians are measured by history on the stands they make against the tyranny of their time.
Our God is a God of history, and history will always be on His side. As His people, we are instructed to learn it, know it, and lay aside sin in order to make it. Our God never stops making history, but His people do.
In Our Time and our Republic, we are strangled by a trade triangle of epic proportions. Where the other two trade triangles mentioned above evolved only one or two out the three goods being evil, in our time we are tested with three out of three coming from the pit of Hell. These three are Identity Theft, Illegal Immigration, and our current tax code.
In this Trade Triangle of Theft criminals both inside and outside of Congress run its route.
The Rule of Law, established at a great price, is undermined by this synergy of the trade between identities, illegal immigration, and the tax code.
The Bible says the king is to be a revenger on those who do evil and a servant to those who do well (Rom 13: 3-4). As Congress and our country drift further and further away from this simple lesson of the Bible all Hell is breaking loose.
Christian email flurries over the removal of “In God we Trust” on our money can occur on the breakage of wind by a liberal, but asking for support for a simple Biblical doctrine that government should punish bad guys and leave hard working people completely alone will get you the classic “Deer in the headlights look”.
If we do not start mastering the simple doctrines of the Bible we are going to lose our “Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”
Currently our tax system costs Americans $250,000,000,000 (250 Billion $) in annual compliance costs and the United State government spends around $10,000,000,000 (10 Billion$) on the budget for the IRS and for what reason? Simply this, it is a system in which most of the effort is spent on honest people being watched by indifferent government agents who have the power to destroy lives at the drop of a jot if you fail to comply to a 60,000 pages of tax code, rules, and rulings that can confuse even the most adept tax professionals, good guys being watch by the indifferent.
While we are busy serving in the God-hating temple of non-productive also busy working with our government building a tax code which now stands like a phallic idol which if stacked, would be some four and a half feet tall, other people are focusing on what really works. Christians need to stop this practice and get our government back chasing evil doers and leaving hard working people alone. Maybe the creditability lost during the 80’s by the TV preacher might be regained.
Before we move, let’s be clear about something. The busy work caused by our current tax code is not all being done by Americans. IRS plans in 2005 were to lay off 700 employees and outsource tax collections to 10 private companies. Expect a call about your tax debts to come by a person working from a call center in India.
If that was not bad enough, private companies scrabbling to keep profit alive in our country have already outsourced tax compliance work to India to the tune of over 100,000 tax returns in 2004.
While the strong man is busy binding himself, creating as many jobs in India as he can, thieves are busy being productive in his house. Metcalfe’s law and Sutton’s law have combined together to make the 2nd Amendment’s power to stop the majority of crime less and less every day.
The value of a network is the square of the number of users of the system according to a Wikipedia explanation of Metcalfe’s law. The millions of Wikipedia web hits prove that every day. The strength of a network can also be its weakness.
When they asked Willy Sutton why he robbed banks he responded, “Because that’s where the money is”. Today’s bank robbers know where the money is, and they strike 28 ½ times every minute through Identity Theft.
A friend once explained the Internet as everybody’s computer connected to everybody’s computer, as waves of good people started getting online, so did the bad ones. In 2006, the Gardner study reported 15 million people were victims of Identity Theft.
Private Citizens and business are not the only victims. Remember the IRS plan for smarter enforcement by outsourcing jobs to India? They are also victims of Identity Theft! In 2000, the IRS detected 3,805 schemes, consisting of 35,185 suspicious tax returns that claimed a total of $789 million. With 60,000 pages of tax code one wonders if it is possible to file a tax return that is not questionable.
The questionable returns of the IRS could sometimes be cleared up by the “Secret List” of the Social Security Administration. This list contains every incidence that a social security number is used more than once. It’s called the “Secret List” because the Social Security Administration keeps the information to themselves. No attempt is ever made to tell you that someone else is using your social security number. Why? Money talks and your possible problems caused with the IRS by an illegal alien stealing of you identity…walk!
Bob Sullivan, who gave it the term “Secret List”, reported that “the amount of un-credited Social Security wages is now an enormous $420 billion.” In one case report by Sullivan, a single social security number was used 37 times.
The government that cannot build a fence cannot build an electric one either, nor are they trying, at least not for you.
Would the Fairtax stop Identity Theft? Well no, but just as slavery helped the rum and sugar trade and opium helped the silk and spice trade, replacing our tax code enforced by a government hell bent on lawlessness with one administered by the buyer and seller based on simple national retail sales first, then by the states, and then by the federal government, would put us back on Holy ground.
Under the Fairtax, a family of legal residents of the United States could make tax free income and spend all they made tax free up to the poverty level. A family illegally in the United States would pay 30% of each dollar every time they spent money in our country. That would go a long way to recovering the staggering cost of illegal aliens. You would also get instant notification that your social security number was being used by someone else because your Fairtax pre-bate would issued or sent to only one destination.
The Fairtax would also free billions of dollars mentioned above spent by both business and government to fight Identity theft.
Abortion is the ultimate form of identity theft. It is also the ultimate attack on citizenship and the rule of law. Senators like Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts need to see the writing on the wall. It is no longer acceptable to tolerate any encroachments on “Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.” Just being Pro Life is not enough. Supporting an income tax of any kind is now the Mark of the Beast. 58% of all taxes you pay today are hidden in the cost of your sales receipt, making the current system an unseen flat sales tax, but we can see these Teeth Marks of the Beast in the thousands of jobs outsourced to China and India.
We want the Rule of Law enforced on government just as much as we want it enforced on criminals. Pro Life candidates must give the total package to get my vote, and fight for my prosperity and my sacred honor. Candidates who fail on prosperity and honor must be voted against just as if they were pro abortion.
Candidates without the total package of life, liberty and honor, will never push identity thieves back where they belong, back in the path of a speeding bullet.
Thanks,
James A. Hodges
